When I grow up, I want shoes like Daddy Jeff's

Happy Father's Day.

Each of us has a father.
Some of us have a few.
Jack is triply blessed.

So today we are sending out our little thank you.

Thanks to all the Dads out there
For teaching us us right from wrong,
For answering endless questions,
For protecting us,
For helping us understand that to love is to sacrifice and to commit.

Breaking the Rules

Tucker gets a little panicky about thunderstorms and has decided that the safest place is in the middle of the bed. He seemed to take as much comfort from having Jack there as he does from anyone else. So we put Jake up there as well. Jake spent his time worrying about how to get down, because he knows the no-dogs-in-bed rule.

Early in the morning at Will and Joe's

Why is it that Jake is the one that looks most alert...and he's something like 93 years old?

Jack at Will's Vine Ball

Will and Joe have a lovely country place called Standen Still. (Long story).

Will, quite the creative genius, created a series of vine balls around the property. The picture vine ball (vine gumdrop?) is located at Sittin Still, a little clearing on one of the high spots of their property.

Jack is still (strangely) tolerant of his Pop's ridiculous photo shoot ideas.

Visiting Tom and Ernesto in the country...

Will and Joe invited us out to Rappahanock to celebrate Mark's birthday. While we were out there, we dropped by Tom and Ernesto's place in the country, which is verrrrry close to being finished. They joined us for dinner and Ernesto made the most incredible birthday cake! It was such a wonderful weekend.

Laughing During Tummy Time

Jack and Jeff are having a grand time this morning. Don't worry about the occasional face plant. It's very soft foam pad, covered in a soft cloth!

I am not sure I agree with the editorial page this morning....

Susan likes Jack!

Recently we had a lovely dinner with some friends from law school. All the moms were stunned at how well-behaved Jackson was. Jack remarked that he also thought everyone behaved themselves (especially for such a large group of lawyers).

Right back at you, buddy!

Laughing boys!

Fred was telling a funny story the other night and entertaining us all!

FINALLY, someone who likes to watch tennis as much as Mark does...

This yellow little seat is called a Bumpo. It allows Jack to sit up and observe the world. Note the intent look on his face in the first picture. Note the background. What you can't see is that Jack is completely focused on the TV. I was watching the French Open at breakfast and Jack was transfixed.
Daddy Jeff came into the kitchen and was horrified that we were turning his young brain into mush, so he repositioned the bumpo so that it was facing Jeff.
The second picture tells it all! Jack is straining with all his might to see the show! Note the look of amused resignation on Jeff's face.
