Jack likes calamari...

As long as it has lemon on it...

In Birmingham at 650 am

Jack and I are on his "bus." He's the bus driver and I am the passenger. We are going to "Treeling" in Pennsylvania and then "Roots" in Delaware.

A recent video good night from Jack while Papa was away...

Papa was at the Plaza Hotel in NY, using Facetime to chat with Jack and Daddy.  We wondered around the lobby looking for Santa and having Jack say hello to various staff and guests.  Then we said goodnight.  Jack had this video waiting for me the next morning.  (His Dad is a real sweetie...)

We were having some dinner guests over the other night...

and forgot about how honest kids can be.  Happily, I can't even remember who the guests were that night, but Jack made clear who he would have preferred to have over that night!  I also like that he had a swift second option if his first preference didn't work out.  (If you know Ellen and Frank, it's easy to see why he'd want them to come over....they are just so much fun!)

Jack visited Grandma Ruth over the holidays where he got to see his Uncle Greg, Aunt Danielle, and his cousins, Lincoln and Brady.  Here Jack and Lincoln are playing.  At the suggestion of unthinking (and frankly, sleep-deprived adults) it was suggested that the boys hug each other for a photo op. Jack, taking lessons learned from a neighborhood boy, proceeded to employ his patented "choke-hold-take-down-masquerading-as-love" move. Shortly thereafter, Lincoln decided that there had been enough "hugging" for that morning.

Making pancakes with Papa...

Someone dressed as a Dr. Seuss character decided to help Papa make pancakes this morning.  Which was immediately followed by KISSES!!!

Just love seeing my Daddy...

Jack and Margarita built a fort this afternoon in the living room.  Then Daddy came home and it was time for the KISSES!!!

Can't touch this...

There is a crazy youtube site that mashes up various Obama speeches into popular pop songs.  One of them is a remake of the timeless MC Hammer tune, "Can't touch this."  (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PLIJc7YE_jw)

In the week leading up to the election I showed it to Jeff (and Jack) one morning when we were getting ready for work/school.  This morning, Jack offered his rendition.  Have a great day!

Trip to California

Recently, we went out to visit Jenn, Jack's birthmom.  We met her husband, Joel, his son, Joseph, and their new baby, Dylan.  We also saw Jenn's mom, grandmom and aunt.  We had a great time playing with them and they were very sweet.  While we were there, our dear friend Dorothy put us up at her lovely place.  These are some pictures from around the pool.

More Halloween pics..

We have to do a better job about getting the macro lens off the camera.  Margarita came over and took pictures.  Jack had a great time (as did Papa).  Daddy was bemused by the both of us! I think the colors on Jeff are pretty fun.  We did our best to strive for accuracy with the planets as Jack is learning about them now and knows which planet goes where.

Mr. Industrious

We are playing at Rosé Park in Georgetown. Jack is picking up all the plastic tools and moving them to his "Ice Cream Store". Although is does feel bit like a freezer today!

First Day of School

Jack started school today! We were so excited. He, of course, took it all in stride! Just got the report from Margarita who is picking him up at noon. She was parked in line, he marched out in a long line, perfectly behaved. They then went to the playground and she said he was playing excitedly with his new friends!

The first official piece of artwork from school

I think Matisse would be proud!
